October Newsletter 2021
CLUB UPDATE
It's official, I've got the Pickleball Bug. I really didn't see it coming but man do I love me some Pickle! It's such a great sport and a great way to socialize with others while getting a nice workout. Most of you know that I was the Tennis Director here at the club for many years and still love the game. It's so cool to have both sports here at our disposal. Now with the cooler Fall weather, it's a great time to check both Pickleball and Tennis out!
Speaking of Tennis, we are in the process of making courts 6-8 into concrete courts. The project will take another month or so to complete but it will be great having new, fresh courts for everyone to enjoy! We will also be getting new pool furniture by the end of the year. It's taking a little longer than expected but they have been ordered and hopefully they will arrive sooner than later.
I hope everyone has a great October here at OVAC!
See Ya at the Club!

RACQUET SPORTS NEWS
COURTS 6,7 & 8 CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
As I'm sure many of you have noticed, the court improvements on 6, 7 and 8 are underway. If all goes according to plan and the weather cooperates we should have them back and available to us by mid-November. Thanks to all for your patience and cooperation.
VCJTA TOURNAMENT
We will be hosting a Ventura County Junior Tennis Association tournament at the club in November. There will be a Novice division for those beginning players just getting used to playing matches and a more advanced Open Division for those with more experience. It is currently scheduled for November 6/7 but it's likely we will need to move it back a week to allow the court improvements to be completed. That will put it on Sat/Sun November 13/14. Entries will close 11/9. Please visit vcjta.com for more details.
