OVAC UPDATE

img

We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe as we head into Fall. We have been working hard at the club over the past few weeks to provide a better outdoor exercise experience for everyone. We put in new flooring and moved all the downstairs equipment out by the volleyball courts. We will be putting up new shade in the next couple of weeks along with landscaping. Once complete, the volleyball area will be a permanent outdoor section for exercise. We have quite a few members asking when the indoor area will be open. Ventura County is currently in the highest risk level but very close to dropping to the level of "Substantial" risk which will allow us to reopen the indoor area. We will keep everyone posted when we get the good news!

I want to finish by thanking everyone for hanging in there with us as we navigate these crazy waters. It has been a challenge beyond belief but we feel the corner has turned and we will be back in full action sooner than later. Let's all have a great September!

See Ya at the Club!

Ryan

OUTDOOR SHOWERS

A friendly reminder that we have two outdoor showers for members to use by the pool locker rooms. Please be aware that these are for rinsing off and not for people to use products such as shampoo and conditioner. Please refrain from using products in the outdoor showers. Thanks for your cooperation!!

CHANGE IS GOOD!

By Danielle Wommack, Fitness Director

I am so excited about the new options available here at OVAC! We are working hard to continually make changes to accommodate ALL of your fitness needs. In case you missed all the changes and new additions, let me hit the highlights…

THE NEW GYM IS READY – The turf and rubber flooring have been installed, fans are up, the temporary shade coverings are up, and the equipment is in place out near the volleyball courts. We have the complete line of Cybex machines out there (previously in the downstairs gym), the Freemotion Dual Axis cable machine, squat rack, bench press, dumbbells, kettlebells, the hip thrust machine, TRX, a landmine, and lots of other little goodies to make sure you can get your workout done safely. Social distancing will be strictly enforced and we will continue to clean, clean, clean to make sure you stay healthy. And this is just the beginning – WiFi will be added to this area, more durable shade coverings, plus the addition of more equipment. AND, we now have a great area under the Café deck near Tennis Court 1 to further develop more fitness workout areas for you. Check out this space for cardio machines and our boxing equipment.

YOUTH IN MOTION IS EXPANDING – The first round was such a success with 11 kids participating that we want to keep going! Suitable for athletes and non-athletes, Youth in Motion focuses on action, vitality, and play to feed each young person's natural drives. Session 2 will begin the week of September 14 and will run for four consecutive weeks. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please just shoot me an email at [email protected] (non-members are welcome for an additional fee)

  • Ages 8-12 years Fitness+Tennis+Swim Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-5:30pm $325 for members
  • Ages 8-12 years Barre+Yoga Mondays and Wednesdays 3-4pm $160 for members
  • Ages 13-18 years Fitness Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:45-4:45pm $160 for members

SO MANY VIRTUAL OFFERINGS – In addition to the many, many group fitness classes that are being offered to members, we also have a lot of great options to virtual train with a person trainer:

  • Small Group Training sessions are available via Zoom (four weeks for $99.25).
  • One-on-one virtual training is available with all our personal trainers (five sessions for $325).
  • Online workouts and nutrition packages still available (four weeks for $76). This differs from virtual training in that everything is delivered via email.
  • Family Small Group Training is available in two forms. First, if you would like Small Group Training for just your family, with no other participants, we are able to accommodate families of 3 to 6 (four weeks for $99.25 for each adult, $80 for each child). Second, we also offer Small Group Training for multiple families. This price is the same, but we have more time slots available if you are willing to workout with other families. We are really trying to encourage everyone in the family to stay active and fit.

Not seeing anything that helps you address your fitness needs? Then I definitely want to hear from you! Please email me your suggestions at [email protected]
