June Newsletter 2021

OVAC UPDATE

Boy oh boy have things changed! It has been amazing to see old and new members come to the club. The energy has been amazing and it should only get better as we approach June 15th. We hope on that date we will be able to operate as normal. We are introducing more Spin classes along with towels and other services. We ordered a new diving board (the old one cracked) and should be here right around the time we have lifeguards. We have tennis camps and swim lessons throughout the Summer months. They are filling fast so please contact us or visit our website if you are interested.

If we are able to operate normal, we will introduce more social events and music during the Summer. We are very excited to get the past months behind us and look forward to seeing everyone at the club soon! Thanks again for all your support.

See Ya at the Club!
Ryan

RESULTS

There is nothing more rewarding then to see clients receive the results they want with this training. For example, recently after ONE 8 package session with a client of mine…she already not only felt, but could also see a significant difference in her abdomen. With this woman specifically, she was coming in twice a week for full hour sessions and was able to memorize some of the exercises to do on her own time.

I also see results happen quickly when people do private Pilates even once a week and cross train other days throughout the week, whether that is more private sessions, working out on their own, or group classes!

I encourage you all to use this as motivation for our summer months coming up! It is always a surprise for people to see their results after participating in Pilates. Was for me too…I used to always engage my core incorrectly; thinking it was correct because I could still feel my abdomen working hard. It took very minor changes to alter this for good! I received results from there and continue to maintain it in the easiest way possible.

Trust the process!!

SICK OF BEING HUNGRY?

-Fitness Director Danielle Wommack

To avoid being hungry, you will need to fill up quickly (satiation), stay full for as long as possible (satiety), and (maybe hardest of all) keep in control of the craving of flavors, tastes and textures (satisfaction). In order to accomplish this , you must simply remember the following:

  • Consume foods that are higher in protein and fiber;
  • Avoid foods that are high in fat and carbohydrates; and
  • Avoid sugary, fatty, salty, and creamy flavors, tastes, and textures.

But such suggestions are really too vague to be of much practical value, so let's get more specific. When deciding "Should I?" or "Shouldn't I?" with regards to a food, ALWAYS look at the nutrition label and follow the steps below.

STEP 1 Add Total Fat and Net Carbs Together (Note that Net Carbs=Total Carbohydrates – Fiber – Sugar Alcohol if any)

STEP 2 Add Fiber and Protein Together

STEP 3 Subtract Fiber and Protein from Fat and Carbs (i.e., Subtract Step 2 from Step 1) noting that it may be a negative number.

You should be looking for foods with a number less than 10. In fact, the lower the number, the better, with negative numbers being the best.

Enjoy this simple tip for helping you fight those hunger pains. If you would like more detailed nutrition information or more details about our popular under $30 a month online nutrition program, please feel free to email me at [email protected].
